MemberYes, the GUI has been stripped out to keep it more streamline.
Floob
MemberHave you tried connecting to hostname RETROPIE as opposed to an IP?
Floob
MemberI’m not too sure what you mean – every game will have its own name, so you can have multiple save states of each game. They wont overwrite eachother. These are the relevant lines
# State slots. With slot set to 0, save state name is *.state (or whatever defined on commandline). # When slot is != 0, path will be $path%d, where %d is slot number. # input_state_slot_increase = f7 # input_state_slot_decrease = f6 # When saving a savestate, save state index is automatically increased before # it is saved. # Also, when loading content, the index will be set to the highest existing index. # There is no upper bound on the index. # savestate_auto_index = false

MemberSet a value for
input_enable_hotkey = altthen you would have to press alt as well as the hotkey to get it to work
Floob
MemberBy default the save games will use the name of the rom.
Floob
MemberIf that is a new install, I would be tempted to use 2.6.0 and try again.
Floob
MemberThis may help:
Floob
Membercopying roms via USB may help if you have limited access to the Pi.
Floob
MemberJust checking – the roms arent in here are they?
~/RetroPie/roms/fba-libretroFloob
MemberAny chance you could try a different controller to see if thats the issue?
Floob
MemberI could be wrong – but shouldnt that read A_0 as opposed to A_1 etc.. ?
I dont have access to a Pi at the moment to check.hmm – yeah after thinking about it I’m pretty sure I’m wrong here.
Floob
MemberThe # will only affect the line it appears on, so thats fine.
This config will only affect control of games/roms that are put in the home/pi/RetroPie/roms/fba folder, but I presume thats where you have put them?
Are you sure the button codes you are using are the correct ones for your joypad?
Which one is it?Floob
MemberYou can set options to exit emulator by setting a hotkey, like this:
You can set per emulator settings by using the files here:
/opt/retropie/configs/{systemname}/retroarch.cfgFloob
MemberInfo on the FBA GUI frontend here:
http://sourceforge.net/p/pifba/code/ci/master/tree/Looks like its getting a bit of an update…
Floob
MemberI would strongly recommend the method labelwhore suggests.
If you want to do it via the menu, press F1 when in a game.Floob
MemberI dont think it is marked a beta. I’m certainly going to run with it.
Yes, you can tell which systems will accept zip files by checking this file:
/etc/emulationstation/es_systems.cfgFloob
MemberI havent got stuck into advmame yet, but there is a stack of info here:
/opt/retropie/emulators/advmame/share/doc/advanceFloob
MemberYes, you can find it in
/opt/retropie/emulators/pifba/fba2x.cfgHere is the default contents:
http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=e2ivW5sMYou can get your joypad equivalents with the jstest tool.
Floob
MemberLongshot, but have you tried a different TV or different HDMI cable?
Floob
MemberSO this issue is related to running roms from a USB device as opposed to the default location on the SD card? Then yes, you may well need to re-point the paths as you have done.
I’ve kept mine simple and run all roms from SD.
Floob
MemberHave you set your PS3 joypad up to work in retroarch?
Floob
MemberDoes it work if you set it to force audio to HDMI in the retropie setup script?
Floob
MemberI dont think so, these are the only ones I’m aware of:
https://github.com/ssilverm/PiMAME/blob/master/.gngeo/gngeorcFloob
MemberYes, both use EmulationStation 2 – so shouldnt be an issue.
Personally I’d use sselphs scraper (does MAME as well now!) – takes literally minutes to do a full romset.Floob
MemberUse the 0.138 roms.
I’m going to do an in-depth guide on MAME and gngeo very soon – personally I find gngeo is better at running SNK roms than FBA.Floob
MemberRetroPie 2.5.0 should work fine on the RPi2.
I tend to use an Elgato to record gameplay, and Bandicam to record PC/PuTTY sessions.
Although I’m sure there are some good free alternatives to Bandicam.Floob
MemberI imagine its a permission issue
If you run
“ls -lah” in your home directory does it say that user pi has write access? You could set it so any user has all permissions (better to set it just for Pi, but anyway)
“sudo chmod -R 777 /home/pi/RetroPie/savestate”Floob
Member
Take the “#” off from the savefile and the savestate line.
What he said
The # sign tells retroarch to ignore the whole line.
Floob
MemberThats probably the problem, edit the one I have referenced above instead.
Floob
MemberThere is a framskip option in mupen64plus if that helps:
http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=bpGRzYqXHavent tried it though – looks like it wants the Rice video plugin as well.
I put how to swap that in on my video.Floob
MemberCould you post your retroarch.cfg as an attachment (you’ll need to rename it to .txt)
I’m assuming you are talking about
/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg as opposed to any system specific one.Floob
MemberHi Roo,
Could you share you gb.cfg overlay file?
Looks really nice.Floob
Member
thanks floob. BTW – I’d love to see a video with the new uae4all emulator
You do a really great job with the vids.
Thanks, I’ll get that sorted after I’ve done the MAME guides.

Member
Does anyone have a fix for muoen64plus only appearing in the bottom left hand side of the screen? all of my other emulators i have tried are working fine, but this one is causing trouble. i am using hdmi to output
