You can improve perforamce if you lower video resolution. A PI2 will never play the majority of n64 games without hiccups, lag and so on.

Use audio-sdl audio plugin and reduce screen resolution to VGA.

Sorry. CornN64 has a patched GLideN64 branch but changes have not been posted upstream. I think it is also possible to patch mupen64plus so everything is upscaled and has the right aspect. I will take a look.

GLideN64? There is no way config 4:3. If you set VGA resolution your TV should show a 4:3 video. Just disable any “smart” video format setting of your TV.

Disable bilinear filter: Under system “retropie” you can find “Edit RetroPie/RetroArch configurations”. Run this option and selet “Change common RetroArch options”. Select “All”. Now disable “smooth_video” and close menu.

Disable hardware upscaling: If you launch a game press a button (or x/m). Launch menu pops up. Select option framebuffer (fb) resolution. Select framebuffer resolution = native resolution.

We have three hit and miss emulators: Mupen64Plus, Reicast and PPSSPP

You can find games which run full speed (for example Castlevania X Chronicles(ppsspp), Mario64, MarioKart64, Marvel VS CAPCOM (Reicast) and you can find games which run crappy as hell (Spiderman (ppsspp), Conkers Bad Fur Day, Crazy Taxi(Reicast)).

If you want a system which runs every game full speed you should buy a fast PC.

Is your controller emulating a keyboard? I thought 8Bitdo work as joystick devices?

Please try “keep bluetooth scanning” fix from here:
    https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Setting-up-a-Bluetooth-controller

I suppose your bluetooth dongle is not up after a reboot. If you connect a controller over usb a script will enable your bluetooth controller. So it is only necessary to connect “one” controller once if dongle is not enabled after boot.

Have you already changed aspect ratio to 16:9?
    -> 1.777777777777778

As far as i know there is no dynamic stretch to fill option.

    Hi Micha,

It’s not possible at the moment because ps3 driver disables and replaces the bluetooth daemon. The new jessie bluez version has builtin sixaxis support. But there is no setup guide at the moment.

    Open /opt/retropie/configs/all/autoconf.cfg and set “mupen64plus_hotkeys = 0”.

Thank you very much! I added your gameboy palette to RetroPie-Setup. Gameboy classic should be default green yellow now. There is a PR for overlays as well.

I added default green/yellow colorization after rp3.4 release. Update RetroPie-Setup and do a source based installation of lr-gambatte. Gameboy classic custom palette should be green yellow then.

It’s ” eval $command </dev/tty 2>/tmp/runcommand.log.”. Mobile github does not show line numbers.

In runcommand.sh there is a comment like ‘# run command’ followed by ‘equal $command …’. You can add ‘rm /path/file’ under these lines.

In lr-mupen64plus there is a core option for video plugins. Don’t expect to much. gles2n64 is broken since last june and glide shows a black screen.

There is a option to select different vice emulators. There are six entries at the moment. If you launch a game press x or m.
    https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/blob/master/scriptmodules/emulators/vice.sh#L73

C128, CPET, PLUS4 and VIC20 are not really C64 variants. So i think we could add extra system entries for them.

Ok. This zip file looks like a converted cg shader repo like our own glsl repo.

It did not work on linux with intel drivers. I will try again.

Do you have a link to the libretro glsl shader pack? I know the libretro cg shader repo (https://github.com/libretro/common-shaders). But there is no glsl repo on github.

We have converted this repo with nvidia cg toolkit and provide these shaders with an own repo (https://github.com/RetroPie/common-shaders).

Just another question. Is this shader compatible with standard OpenGL? Old versions didn’t work.

    It is runcommand.sh. It’s located under /opt/retropie/supplementary/runcommand.
You can write the rom name in a file with the following command:
    echo "$rom" >> /path/yourfile.txt

Our current PIs use a fixed graphics firmware which has buildin gles supports. This firmware didn’t change since decades (rpi1 release time) ;-).

As dankcushions said there is a open source driver headed up. I don’t know if it has more features or is faster.

I fear this only works if fb emulation is enabled. Fb emulation does only work if graphics driver supports depth texture attachments or GLES3.

There is an aspect ratio option. But it only works if framebuffer emulation is enabled. Raspberry PIs gles driver lags support for one necessary gles extensions for fb emulation.
