you can use a normal Pi sower supply (altho you may need to buy a Y cable via eBay) for the following..
via command line..
sudo nano /boot/config.txt
then right at the bottom add this…
then press ctrl+x then Y then enter to save your edit
then restart you pigonzothegreatParticipant10/08/2015 at 12:36Post count: 77

you could just move the file system over to the hdd, with this guide..
if your using one of the 4 usb port pi’s you could also skip the usb hub and add this line
to the /boot/config.txtgonzothegreatParticipant09/30/2015 at 08:00Post count: 77gonzothegreatParticipant09/29/2015 at 17:38Post count: 77gonzothegreatParticipant09/11/2015 at 12:35Post count: 77

ok, there is a fix for this..
so start yer Pi as normal,
then when the EmulationStation config screen pops up, assign the buttons as well as you can.
next you need to set your retroarch config via the ES RetroPie menu. once that is done launch the RetroPie SetUp script.
now you need to select #3 Setup / Configuration (to be used post install) then scroll right down to the bottom if the list, select #331 Install XBox contr. 360 driver
now ES will ask you to assign the buttons again, and now the trigger & shoulder buttons should register
