Yesterday I purchased a 500gb Seagate external hard drive to plug into my Pi 2. It was originally formatted in NTFS but I reformatted it to ext4.
I’ve plugged it into my PCs and it shows up and works fine. Currently has a few GBs of stuff on it.
When I plug it into my Pi it shows up under
Bus 001 Device 006: ID 0bc2:2321 Seagate RSS LLC
When I do
fdisk -lit doesn’t show up at all, just the SD card.

Can anyone help?herbfargusMember10/04/2015 at 22:42Post count: 1858
you may need a powered usb hub:robertybobParticipant10/05/2015 at 00:18Post count: 219
Ok does anyone know a good guide to auto mount my hard disk and how I change the es_systems.cfg to reflect the path of my roms?gonzothegreatParticipant10/05/2015 at 19:52Post count: 77
you could just move the file system over to the hdd, with this guide..
if your using one of the 4 usb port pi’s you could also skip the usb hub and add this line
to the /boot/config.txt
