Issues with your d-pad? RetroPie Release 3.2.1 might help

We have just published a bug-fix release, RetroPie image v.3.2.1, that fixes controller configuration issues for RetroArch-based emulators.

For all of you that installed version 3.2 and are having trouble with the d-pad on the controllers: You can also fix that manually by editing

/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg

and removing the lines at the end

input_player1_analog_dpad_mode = 1
input_player2_analog_dpad_mode = 1
input_player3_analog_dpad_mode = 1
input_player4_analog_dpad_mode = 1
input_player5_analog_dpad_mode = 1
input_player6_analog_dpad_mode = 1
input_player7_analog_dpad_mode = 1
input_player8_analog_dpad_mode = 1

That should fix the problem.

All users who “upgraded” by updating RetroPie-Setup script and doing a full binary install will not be affected as their own retroarch.cfg will not have been overwritten.

As usually you can find the images in the Downloads Section.

That’s it – enjoy!

  1. Francesco Luvisin says:

    I’ve an original 6 button Genesis PAD (through usb adapter) and It’s impossible to set (both through GUI and retroarch config) the direction UP and LEFT………. the pads and the adapters work perfectly under GNU/Linux and all the emulators… so I don’t know why they don’t work on Retropie (that is a GNU/Linux based o.s.)….
