Participanthave a look here…
InsecureSpike
Participantthis is awesome!
but a big project no?InsecureSpike
Participantthanks mate, yeah I try and stick with that font, I really like it lots!
well I wouldn’t call it a marquee persay, I wanted the sub-menus to feel/look slightly darker to the main-menu, but wanted to keep the same wallpaper, I tried several different things and settled for this, as it takes the glare from the brightness of the wallpaper, with the darker text so that the eyes are more relexed while there is game related data to read.InsecureSpike
Participantjust replaced the “RetroPlay” text wallpaper with a no text wallpaper
InsecureSpike
Participantno, i know it’s odd, but thats the only thing i’ve just added and it seams to have fixed the issue, i just wondered if anyone else has had a similar issue.
but not to worry its fixed nowInsecureSpike
Participanti had to create a supermariowar folder with a retroarch.cfg & retroarch.cfg.rp-dist
and i’m using 4 wireless a xbox 360 controllers

Participantyeah, 3.2.1
no i only noticed this release, from fresh installInsecureSpike
Participantwell I think the intention was to have a detailed way of theming, but sadly you are correct, as now the support and progress of Emulation Station is in a sort of hiatus. there is another front end that’s being tested, I think, there’s a post about it a week or so ago
InsecureSpike
Participantok, how can I do that? can you give me some directions pls,
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
InsecureSpike
Participanthey mate, this skin is no longer being supported, but stay tuned there is an update, arriving very soon
InsecureSpike
Participantsorry your having issues with the theme, as robertyrob says we think this is down to screen resolutions, I have not experienced these issues so don’t feel I could comment on the issue as of yet, and I’ll have a look when I get home
InsecureSpike
Participantyeah the first link is real easy to use, I use it while making themes, very handy, for other things too, like when es is having behavioural problems
InsecureSpike
Participantyeah you got it, the latter

Participantsimplified static canela v2.0 [OBSOLETE]
there will be no more updates for this theme!
please keep your eye out for the evolution of simplified static canela
thank you for your support…..
InsecureSpike
Participanthave you tried SYSCARD3.PCE too?
most play fine for me
InsecureSpike
Participanti’d recommend no to the PiSupply!
edit:
it may be my lack of linux knowledge but it didn’t seam to send enough power though to the pi, which ended up in constantly getting the coloured square showing most of the time!InsecureSpike
Participantccool!
sorry i can’t be much more help on the dark bar problem
InsecureSpike
Participantnow this is cause by your tv/monitor setting i think, as my Beta tester Robertybob had the very same issue, but he fixed it somehow, i’ll pass the query on to him…
player numbers, yeah you’ll need to reposition the required fields, needed
InsecureSpike
Participantwhat themes have you tried?
InsecureSpike
Participantfirstly I’d try lr-fba over gngeopi, much much better
InsecureSpike
Participantif after floods method don’t help, then change emulators, there after after roms that don’t run on some emu’s
InsecureSpike
Participantit’ll only emulate cart/arcade games, no cd’s as of yet, I think I read, somewhere
InsecureSpike
Participantyour welcome, thank you for the bug find
InsecureSpike
Participantok, here is the updated mame theme.xml
simplified static canela v2.0 [OBSOLETE]
to replace,
select simple theme, then replace/overright the new theme.xml in the mame folder on your rpi, reselect the simplified_static_canela_my_red_logo_v2.0 theme and all should be good,
any issues
InsecureSpike
ParticipantInsecureSpike
Participantthat’s awesome, ok I can sort that mate
InsecureSpike
Participantis it just the mame one causing the issues?
are the others correct?InsecureSpike
Participanthi, thanks that’s awesome!!
ok wanna send me over a pic or 2 of your issue and I’ll do me best to issue you with a fix
regards
InsecureSpike
Participantthats wonderful many thanks, mate
InsecureSpike
Participantthis is exactly the idea I had when I created my theme, my box art isn’t as large as yours, but yeah no need for all that info imho
InsecureSpike
Participanti would edit it via a note pad on your PC/mac then drop it in the
/home/pi/.emulationstation
folder then rebootjust remember to only edit/replace things when retropie has been quit and command line is seen on screen
InsecureSpike
Participantawesome! glad to help, fella
InsecureSpike
Participanthi, ok, where you want to be putting the themes is here
home/pi/.emulationstation/themes/
if the
.emulationstation
folder does not exist, just create it, then another folder namedthemes
and drop the new theme in there. then all you have to do is select your desired theme via the ES menusInsecureSpike
Participantcool idea, like the blue background one!
screenshots: to take screen shots install this.. raspi2png
InsecureSpike
