    Hey Floob,

Thanks for the videos, they were great. I was referring to quitting out of the RetroArch emulators (nes, snes, atari, etc) but I was able to figure it out after looking around the boards a bit.

    @ke0kie:

No, not personally. I assumed it worked based on my past experience with Logitech equipment and various Linux distributions, it usually works.

But, I did some research on the subject and apparently, you need a more up to date version of xboxdrv and switch the remote to X mode (or something like that). You can find the solution here.

Well, personally i’m using an older Logitech gamepad (can’t remember model#) and it’s working fine so far for all games. This is a picture of it Logitech Gamepad

If you are looking to still use a SNES looking controller, I would recommend this brand. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/New-SNES-USB-Retro-Classic-Controller-Pad-to-PC-MAC-RetroLink-Super-Famicom-/290944776041?pt=US_Video_Game_Controllers&hash=item43bda8f769&_uhb=1

From what I have read online, the controllers are as close to authentic as you can get, and should last a while. The only issues of course is, you won’t have analog joysticks or the L2/L3/R2/R3 buttons.

All around, I would recommend the F310 for wired and the F710 if you wanted to go wireless. http://gaming.logitech.com/en-ca/product/f710-wireless-gamepad

I’ve been having some problems with this as well and been experimenting on ways to counter-act this. So far, the only thing I have had luck with is overclocking the GPU/CPU to 1.0GHz (via raspi-config). The only problem with this was, I was sometimes having system lockups during game play. I’m trying a set of heat sinks on the chipsets on the board now to see if I can get rid of some of the stress on the CPU/GPU by getting it cooled down faster. So far, so good, no lock-ups yet (Except NeoGeo, still having issues with that).

I’m assuming you are auto booting into emulation station. From ES, press F4 to exit. You should still have your RetroPie-Setup folder located in your home folder. Launch the file retropie_setup using the command

sudo ./retropie_setup.sh and follow petrockblog’s instructions.

did you remember to update the retropie setup script first? In order to update RetroPie, you first update the setup script, then update the binaries.

    Hi,

I tried yet another reinstall, and I have working GB(A,Cl games now, thanks. The only thing left not working all the way right is mame. I tried a few other roms and had some partial success getting them to load. I was able to get Pac-Mac for example to load and work great, but Metal Slug or X-Men 2 for example, will not.

Also, Neo-Geo just refuses to work at all and when it crashes, it crashes ES and forces a hard reboot. Not sure what is going on here yet, would love to play Metal Slug 3 again. Wasted a lot of quarters on that growing up.

Here is my debug.log After re-install, still same thing. Mame/Neo-Geo/GBC/GB roms will not work. I have GBA working now, thanks for the help with that.

Not sure what I am doing wrong…

Here is my debug log from last install:

Still same results. Can’t start mame or neogeo roms.

Ok, found the ROM compatibility list for imame4all and the games I have been trying to run apparently are unsupported :(

How can I get ES to use another MAME emulator? I see advanceMAME was installed (from the tutorial) but there is no where that says how to use it over imame4all.

Also, when I checked the es_systems.cfg, I noticed the alternative run commands were there to uncomment to use other emulators (ie, piNES) but there was no alternative line for advancemame.

Ok, i’ll give that a try.

I have the neogeo bios, does it stay in .zip or does it get uncompressed?

Hmm, now i’m stumped. Mame or Neo-Geo roms won’t work either, just goes to a black screen with some text (I can’t make out any of the words, too fast) and goes back to ES. Was hoping to try out some Metal Slug on this and play a few child hood faves. Is there something i’m supposed to post configure with mame to get it to work?

Would trying to hook it up via RCA make any difference?
