    I want to give it a try after the game, using openelec kodi – retropie. Does this solve the issue that I always need to have 2 nes controllers connected? The problem is that when I start a game Controller 2 is pushed left and up, at least thats what the pi thinks, when I do a full circle on the d-pad from controller 2 everything is cool again ;) Some games like MM3 are unplayeble if a button or direction is pushed on the second controller.

    By the by I use your kernel for 4nes4snes adapter, maybe you need that info ;)

    Anywho whats also important is a big thanks for keeping this kernel updated, without this I would have a lot more problems with the adapter, so thank you very much for your efforts :D

    What emulator are you using and do you use any shaders on the snes emu?
    The best thing to start is by using default settings, don’t set your resolution to 1080p, 1280 is enough to play old games ;) Turn off any shader (later on you can experiment what shader you like),
    Use Threated Video, atleast that works on my pi to speed things on.

    But ca I still set a layer over the video so that the EmulationStaion logo is on the background instead of ontop of my video?

    If I want to keep my savegames and roms, I normally enter the Pi in WinSCP and copy everything from the roms and saves to my laptop, then I update the system and after that I copy the stuff back.

    Dunno if there is an easier way.

    Hi there,
    I had the same problem with the d-pad thingy, I looked up controller issues on this forum and found a similar issue with an other controller. This issue was fixed with a custom kernel, I tried this method and it worked flawlessly, even 4 player bomberman on pce works great. If you search on my name on this forum you should find this topic. I don’t have much posts so it shouldn’t be that hard to find ;)

    You could try to use another audio driver. I use SDL on pocketsnes with quality set at 44100, it works great. I’m using retropie 3 beta on a raspberry pi 2 overclocked on 1ghz with 256 mb gpu.

    the shaders are in /opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/shader
    and the retroarch.cfg is in the folder you have mentiont above.

    Can someone upload the background.png again?
    It seems that some files will work and some don’t as in the palette.png wokrs but other palette files like dmg-palette-1.png doesn’t work.

    that’s funny, the only thing that works with me are the hotkeys. I can’t get fmsx to work with controllers, openmsx works though but my hotkeys aren’t.

    Yes they all exist, another problem is when booted up a gameboy rom with the border on Retroarch keeps those settings for the other roms like Nes roms display in the bottom right corner of my tv screen until I change the ratio within retroarch.

    Fixed the palette problem, but it can’t open the background.png strangely enough they are in the same folder.

    Fixed2 ratio issue: forgot to put save per core on enable :s

    I just can’t get the shader to work.
    I followed everything on this topic, used all the files and edited my gb cfg file.

    cfg file:

    video_shader_enable = true
    video_shader = /opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/shader/gb-shader.glslp

    input_overlay_enable = true
    input_overlay = /opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/overlays/gb.cfg
    input_overlay_opacity = 0.70
    input_overlay_scale = 1.0

    aspect_ratio_index = “22”
    custom_viewport_width = “642”
    custom_viewport_height = “581”
    custom_viewport_x = “638”
    custom_viewport_y = “248”

    here is the gb-shader.glslp file:

    shaders = 5
    shader0 = shader-files/dot.glsl
    shader1 = shader-files/gb-pass-1.glsl
    shader2 = shader-files/gb-pass-2.glsl
    shader3 = shader-files/gb-pass-3.glsl
    shader4 = shader-files/gb-pass-4.glsl

    scale_type0 = viewport
    scale0 = 1

    scale_type1 = source
    scale1 = 1

    scale_type2 = source
    scale2 = 1

    scale_type3 = source
    scale3 = 1

    scale_type4 = source
    scale4 = 1

    filter_linear0 = false
    filter_linear1 = false
    filter_linear2 = false
    filter_linear3 = false
    filter_linear4 = false

    textures = COLOR_PALETTE;BACKGROUND
    COLOR_PALETTE = resources/palette.png
    COLOR_PALETTE_linear = false
    BACKGROUND = resources/background.png
    BACKGROUND_linear = true

    I store my shaders in opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/shader/
    also in opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/shader/shader-files/

    In both those folders are the png files and also in
    opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/shader/resources/

    If I just change the shader in the gb cfg file to dot.glsl it works but without the green color. I tried changing the shader option in the emulator itself by pressing hotkey + F1 > options > shaders, but that doesn’t do a thing.

    I use a RPI1 model b

    Please help me.

    Cheers

    It also fixed my problem on 4 player bomberman for pce. So for me it worked perfect.

    Hi,

    I’ve just fixed my problems on 2.6 with raphnet’s 4nes4snes adapter.
    on http://www.petrockblock.com/forums/topic/autofire-on-the-axis/ is a custom kernel posted that you should install. If you follow “feederchain’s” post you should be able to solve you’re problem.
    My retropie jstest finds 8 axis again.

    Goodluck
