As I answered in an other thread, we have to take a look at RecalBox. I think I’ll contact the admin there to ask him how they’ve dealt with it. Because it doesn’t matter if you’re connected or not, the settings are saved and as soon as you connect vie bluetooth you are able to navigate through Emulation Station.
I think the problem is that Emualtion Station waits for a controller which isn’t connected (Bluetooth: synced) at startup. My idea would be to register some kind of fake controller which is always present…

I’ve tried RecalBox lately. The PS3 controller works like a charm with it. It’s a very nice approach, but the system is kind of close, you can’t modify much like in the retropie distro, so I came back to it.
When you connect a PS3 controller with RecalBox you only have to wait about 5secs and disconnect the usb cable. After that you are able to connect the controller with ease every time.

Thanks mate, mh I knew that that has something to do with ordenary settings.
I’m curious, do you use the bluetooth method? I’ve run into a new problem. I have to config the buttons for Emulationstation everytime I start it. It says that there’s no joystick present, but the Controller works.

Regarding your prob, I think I’ve read something about that the controls can’t be changed or something like that. I’ll give it a shot.

    Hi guys,
I have a big problem. The ps3 controller doesn’t work for me, too, but there is no “minimal.CPP”. The whole src-folder isn’t there.
    Thanks for help.
    Cheers

mh RetroArch, but I would like to use mame4all-pi and I don’t know how. I’ve tried to start it from its folder with ./mame, but the pi freezed. Ikari for example has no sound with RetroArch, so I would like to try mame4all-pi…by the way I’ve found out the controls for RetroArch

Mmhhh I remember that you get a gui when you start it manually from console without any flags…besides that I’ve realised a small script which should press alt+q whenever I push Start. It works via console because I see a tab-space followed by a “q”, but no sir within uae, maybe a “uinput” issue. Maybe you can go a little deeper on this. With uinput you are able to simulate key-combinations, there are moduls for C and Python as far as I know…

    Aaaaahhh thank you ;)
…regarding your problem, I think we need a python script which runs in the background and emulates keyboard-presses. So whenever you press start and select and uae4rpi is running, it presses tab+q…

Would you mind sharing your knowledge with us? I’ve realized that even with roms in the right directory I’m not able to start them within emustation…
