Considering that performing a search on the forums for ‘changelog’ or ‘change log’ yeild no results; considering that performing a search on the forums for ‘3.0’ in hopes that a sticky was created with the various update information; considering that the drop down menu for the main site nor does the actual downloads page (/retropie-downloads/) contain the information I requested, I’d appreciate it, oldchocobo, if you didn’t call me lazy.

Thank you buzz for the answer.

For anyone looking, you have to click on the individual download that you want for the change log at the bottom of your download options.

Perhaps it would make sense to create a single page (or sticky) that has all the change logs from version to version so we could see all the work being done. I know it’s easy to go to github to see the changes, but this site appears to serve as the central point for information and downloads.

The problem with the decal is that you don’t want people to think you’re ripping off pacman (plus any copyright issues along with it). I have created two more concept logos.

As for the slogan, ‘bet you can’t eat it’ doesn’t really make much sense for retropie. Something like, “Unleash your true gamer” or “Rescue the princess again” would be more suitable. Just my opinion.

    Tell me what you think.

Edit: Also as a side note, the 8-bit full pie image has 3 white smoke wisps above it in 8-bit as well. They don’t show up on the white background. I can remove these.

Enghh… I got curious so I did some messing around. I took the pie slice idea you had on your rotating images and used that to based an icon around. Tell me what you think. I have the vector for this icon.

What did you have in mind? I’ve created some logos in the past for various apps and other things.

[quote=84144]I have an idea for the script. I’ve been looking for a way to backup the SD card easily. The problem with most tools now is that if you’ve already expanded the partition to the full size of the card, you create really large backups. There doesn’t appear to be a simple way (such as the expand_rootfs option in the raspi-config) to do this.

Initially thought of requesting a command in the script to shrink the partition so that I could use a third party tool to backup, but perhaps we should take it a step further.

    TL;DR
It would be nice to have an option in the script that would create a compressed *.img backup of the SD card and dump it in a directory where you can SCP the image off of it. The option could be called Backup the SD card. There would obviously need to be a check that checks to see if there is enough space available first.

What may also be beneficial is an easy backup solution where only the main directories are backed up into a tar.gz or zip file. This file could be transferred to another ‘stock image’ and using the script, a restore option could be run which would populate all of the folders (roms, bios and configs) to the new installation based on the old.
