I hearby proudly present my RetroXusPie Carry Kit (RetroPie Nexus 5), with a little bit of modding I made the case in which the package arrived a fair bit deeper, so I could fit in both my Raspberry Pi, my SNES controller and even leaving space to fit my Nexus 5. Pics:
once i built a little controller by myself (gpio connected) and used a script which mounted keyboard-presses when i pressed a button on the controller.<br>
If you want to use xbmc with your controller i guess you can just start xmbc.sh aswell as the read-custom-input.sh (i don’t remember how it’s called) from emulationstation.<br>
I’m not sure how it’s gonna be if the controller is connected by usb but i guess u could just modify the script a little bit.<br>
like i said, i can’t remember the name of it but i can have a look at it on my pc as soon as i get home from work :D

    cheers

How would you run the 2 .sh files at the same time?
Hi, try running ES Scraper manually:

    cd /home/pi/RetroPie/supplementary/ES-scraper
    sudo python scraper.py -w 300 -m

where -w is the boxart width, adjust to your liking but under 400 is recommended. Hope this helps!
What do you recommend as a boxart width? And actually, I was looking for a program to do it all manually, so also the description etc. But I’ll look into the manual mode.

By any chance, could you tell me how to customize the rainbowscreen at the beginning of the boot?
that wasnt to install xbmc it was to launch it and the chmod command makes the sh file executable.

install xbmc first then try it try xbmc instead of sudo xbmc if it doesnt launch it.

What do you mean with ‘install xmbc first’. Excuse me, I’m a beginner in all this. When I try to Google it, I get a lot of hits with seperate OS’s and images, and I want to keep my current image.

After the chmod command the xbmc file doesn’t change, and thus the ’emulator’ won’t show up in Emulationstation. Due to the direct response, I’m guessing that this didn’t install Xbmc, as that should’ve taken longer.

Does someone have a detailed description on how to install this theme? I’m pretty much a noob in the whole Linux/Raspberry Pi world, so any help would be appriciated. :)

Unzip the contents to you hdd than use a secure ftp client to transfer the entire contents inside of ‘my skin’ folder into your .emulationstation directory. Dont copy over the .cfg files though.

There is no .cfg file in the folder I downloaded, only ’emulationstation’ folder, .DS_Store, Controllers.ai, credits.txt, splashscreen.png and template.psd. And I don’t hae an ftp client set up, my only way so far of transferring files has been with the USB drive.

As far as I know, you can’t force scale. What you can do however, is force the output of the Pi to eg. 720p or so, so that it basically fits for most of your displays.
