so, I reformated the card and started over.
Same issue. I tried another SD Card… same issue.
Issue only occurs if I manually make any changes to the retroarch.cfg file (any of them). It happens if I over-write the file with another, or just edit the existing file. If I run the controller config screen, it works fine even after reboot. The only adjustment I really want to make is to exit out of the game using the Select + Start button.
It won’t let me… erases the whole file (blank) after reboot. I can use the emulators for now, but I always have to have a keyboard connected in order to exit out of the game.

Any help would be much appreciated.

EDIT: I resolved the “Script Error” by reinstalling ES-Config via the Sources-based installer in retropie_config.

How exactly do I do this? I get the same error when trying to run the configuration for 2 different emulators.

Same issue. It overrides the file and works until I reboot the device, then it has a blank file instead of the one I copied over.

Did you ever get this resolved? I am having the exact same issue with a generic PS3 USB controller, and having no luck resolving it.
