Does the cmdline.txt method still work in the latest version of retropie? This one:

    usbhid.quirks=0x16c0:0x05e1:0x040
There is a problem with kernel support for this hardware, The 2nd joystick don’t work correctly as player 2. Have you solved it? If yes, can you link me a solution for this, please? Thank And sorry for my bad english!

    I already linked to the solution in my first post:

    I have built a standing 2 player full size arcade that obviously runs on RetroPie using a Raspberry Pi 2. It uses an Xin-Mo 2 player control board and for anyone having issues getting RetroPie to recognise it as 2 separate joypads has to check out this thread:
amazing job!

    “PS1 setup with up to 4 players” – how did you manage this? pcsx-reaARMed on the pi doesn’t support the multitap. is there another PSX emulator??
No the Pi doesn’t support the multi-tap, but the PS1 does :P Currently the 4 player PS1 set up is through a multitap on the PS1 itself.
I have spent countless hours trying to get the Xin Mo controller to work properly with Retropie 3.1. I haven’t tried to patch the kernel as the file is no longer available for download. I have added the line to the cmdline.txt file, but the controller is still seen as only 1 input even after reboot. Does anyone have any ideas?

    Hi tyebeach,

    Try adding the line required to the end of the top line. NOT on a new line below. Ensure when you add it to the top line, there is a space then the line required.

    E.g. In your file after rootwait add a single space then usbhid.quirks=0x16c0:0x05e1:0x040

    This is what I did, and it worked perfectly.

    This thread is full of gold. Everyone here is amazing.

    @feederchain and @monchote I freaking LOVE you guys. Thank you so much for your work on this! Thanks to both of you I just solved my Xin Mo controller issues! Thanks to that incredibly easy /boot/cmdline.txt edit all my issues are over! Xin Mo turns up as two controllers under /dev/inputs and I’ve been able to successfully configure 2 players in MAME and all other emulators fine. Im running Retro Pi 3.0 upgraded from 2.4 and no further issues here.

    Freaking adore you all <3

    If any of you have the time, check out my thread here:

    I’ve been documenting my first arcade build and I think it’s turned out fantastic. I just finished wrapping last weekend. After 2 months of building I can finally start enjoying it for its intended purpose, playing my fav arcade games.

    One more time: THANK YOU ALL. THIS THREAD IS OFF THE HOOK.

    Also heres a quick pic of the arcade wrapped:
