I am still on 3.0 beta, I will try upgrade tonight. But I am having the same issue
player 1 input works flawless in all emulators
player 2 input – nothing, doesn’t even give me the option to input it.

Spent 2 hours a few weeks ago with another forum member manually going through full set up and going into the config. and in the actually editable config there was no option for input_2.

I am having the same issue with absolutely no luck. My back up plan, will be to try map player 2 toa usb controller and keep player 1 a keyboard.

reason why I need keyboard input is because I am using an x arcade which encodes keyboard strokes

Ended up being my keyboard, f4 wasn’t working, anyways went in to the retro arch config through the command line, no luck it only shows me an editable for the player 1 inputs. I even (mc) out of Retropie and directly went into each emulator with no luck.
If I go into the visual retro arch config once a rom is loaded, it will take me to player 2 binds, but will not recognize any key strokes

How can I get to the command line, f4 doesn’t work to exit from Retropie. This new pi2 and retropie3 is a lot different to the previous version
