    Have you installed roms for many different systems? If so you may run into a memory problem. Just decrease the amount of roms and see if this helps.

    Solution for this: Try the newest version of the Emulationstation theme:
    http://blog.nilsbyte.de/downloads/
    Within this theme the blurred background images were scaled down in size in order to fit more background images into the memory.

    In case you have not installed any roms:
    It looks like a memory problem anyway. Try to increase your memory split to 128/128 for a 256Mbyte Raspi or 256/256 for a 512 Mbyte Raspi.

    The thread you have mentioned is from 2013. It refers to Emulationstation 1.0 I guess.

    In the older version of Emulationstation there were sound effects in the menu. I can confirm that. But with Emulationsstation 2.0 and the theme “Simple” I miss sound effects in the menu. Perhaps sound is possible but it is not implemented in the theme script?

    @hacha-dorada:
    Try lowering your memory split. I had same issues as you. After lowering gpu_mem from 384 to 256 (or even 128) (on a Raspberry with 512 MB RAM) now almost every neogeo game runs with pifba (source installed).
    Please take a look at http://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=78&t=50587 for more help.

    in reply to: No Amiga emulation #4643

    @pnow:
    That’s interesting! What exactly have you done in order to get the amiga emulator working? Have you downloaded the source code and compiled it on the Raspi?
