ParticipantI don’t think that the Raspberry Pi 1 Model B is the ideal Raspberry Pi to emulate PS1 games. I got a Raspberry Pi B+ and i couldn’t even play SNES games with the Super FX chip at a decent frame rate.
With the new Raspberry Pi 2B I could emulate all games (that i tested) on SNES, PS1 and N64 with good frame rate and Decent gameplay.
So i would say if you want to play PS1 games, i would recommend a Raspberry Pi 2B.

ParticipantNormally if you place your roms into The right folder and you reboot the system you will see the emulator in the menu.
In what format do you place your roms in the folder?

ParticipantI overclocked my Pi 2 with the default setting for the Pi 2 in the raspi-config. And everything runs smooth for me.

ParticipantI Got the same problem. I use the Analoge Jack for sound instead of the HDMI.
I solved my problem with the following steps:If you open the next file “mupen64plus.cfg” with command:
sudo nano /opt/retropie/configs/n64/mupen64plus.cfgThen you will see the next piece of code somewhere in the top of the file:
# Audio output to go to (0) Analogue jack, (1) HDMI OUTPUT_PORT = 1I just changed the “1” to a “0” and rebooted the system.
Maybe this helps for you.
