I just found this actually, and I might try running it from the Pi at some point. It’s a Linux based iPac utility for programming.

Hi guys, I’m having the exact same issue. First, it started when the Start and Coin buttons wouldn’t respond in any emualtors (And pressing Start would also hit SW8, randomly), and after avoiding using the start input and changing it to Switch 1A and remapping inputs via the ES config tool, now, pressing left on the joystick causes button one to fire as well as jump. Weirdly.

I also am very interested in hearing workarounds, or solutions. I’ll keep tinkering myself and try and post my results.

I ran ES_Scraper myself from the setup script two nights ago, and let it go to work on the 2000 ROMs I have installed. Took ages, but it too downloaded a variety of sizes for each one. Some perfect, meeting the 350px size, but many that were huge and cause browsing to be slowed right down.

Contemplating running it manually on each rom directory one by one, forcing the 350px limit using one of the variables in the script. Is this a wise course of action? Or am I going to have to settle in for a long time of scraping again?

Also, I still get the “Double tapping” problem with the ES input configuration tool within ES, but I found editing retroarch.cfg and es_input.cfg to match the controllers solved that after the fact.

Run the input config tool first, to establish the template for the controller, then manually edit. I’ll post the values of my files later this evening.

Your TV native resolution could be one of the following:

    Full HD (NTSC/PAL) 1920×1080
    HD (NTSC/PAL) 1280×720
    SD (NTSC) 720×480
    SD (PAL) 720×576

    Best of luck. :)

I notice my TV switches from HD to VGA input when a ROM is loaded. Does your TV automatically switch it’s settings when it detects an input that changes?

Looking at that file settings, have you tried setting your video resolution to the native for your TV to minimize the change?

    # Fullscreen resolution. Resolution of 0 uses the resolution of the desktop.
    #video_fullscreen_x = 1366
    #video_fullscreen_y = 768

    # Start in fullscreen. Can be changed at runtime.
    # video_fullscreen = true

I’d try setting your fullscreen settings to your TV native (The one Emulation Station runs in) and fullscreen to true. Remove the # mark prior to the setting.

Just an idea, I have no expertise in this.

I transferred the exact same file last night with no issues, but I was using a mac and transferring via FTP. I know it’s extreme but have you tried putting the SD card into a card reader and directly connecting it to your PC for the transfer? I know it’s not ideal but should work.

If that fails, you’ve got an issue with the file I’d presume.
