PSX Stuttering with Analog input

Hi,

I’ve set up Retropie on a Raspberry Pi 3, it’s all working fine apart from when I change the controller from standard to analog in the retroarch setting for PSX emulation the game starts stuttering every second. I’m using a PS3 controller connected to the built in bluetooth adapter.

Does anybody know what the reason behind this is?
