How to upgrade from 2.6 to 3.0 beta?

There isn’t a guaranteed upgrade route really, apart from backing up your games etc, and restoring them on the new image (and keeping copies of any configs, you will need to manually restore them – some locations have changed etc).

Doing a full binary install might work to upgrade, but I can’t guarantee it, and it will need some intervention if doing it like that to merge in new config changes.

Easier to start afresh.

Yeah, that’s not an upgrade path. Guess I will wait for the non-beta to come out, but wish that it was a lot less painful to upgrade without having to go through this each time.

3.0 is so easy to set up and has so many improvements over 2.6. You’re going to be kicking yourself if you wait. It’s night and day compared to set up on 2.6.
