After connecting the remote, do: `jstest /dev/input/js0 Does that show your button presses?

How would you make the remote’s LED’s automatically turn on then too so that you can clearly see when it is connected?
Edit: Better question, do any of the scripts ever store the remote as a variable? Because I couldn’t find that spot if it does.
