    Cd /etc
    cd emulationstation
ls (make sure es-system.cfg is there I’m pretty sure it is)
    sudo nano es-systems.cfg
find your emulator edit it according to your liking

Or use winscp which works really well to find those pesky files

    Try editing the es-systems.cfg /etc/emulationstation/es-systems.cfg

Find the emulator your having an issue with and edit the runcommand line to your cfg

Also if you have run the setup script than the config is located in /home/pi/RetroPie-Setup/configs/”name of controller.cfg”

Did you run the setup script and register the controller? After that make sure you’re retroarch. Cfg file is pointed to the correct directory for auto detect configs /home/pi/RetroPie-Setup/configs you can also edit that file to your liking (enable hotkeys and what not) hope this helps

My retroarch.cfg file was looking in the wrong spot for the auto config files

Are you using auto detect for your controller’s? If so I recommend updating the controller cfg file I belive it’s in /home/pi/RetroPie-Setup/configs/”name of your controller” that is the cfg file that also check in your retroarch.cfg and be sure that it is pointing to the correct directory for auto config files because mine wasn’t

New stuff has come to light dude…..I ran Retro arch from the command line and I can load games and they work. so something must be wrong in the emulation station cfg file that cause this. Any ideas of where to start looking?

Edit problem solved turns out my es_systems.cfg was running runcommand.sh 1 which my tv did not like switched it to 4 and it works

don’t exactly know what these numbers represent but its working

tried Metal Gear solid today with the same results…blank screen. I can actually save a game and there will be a save file so I know the rom is loading but for some reason I have no video or audio. so weird.

    thanks for the suggestion though

Just tested my roms on my android tablet running retroarch and they work. There has to be a config or setting issue somewhere

Ahh this is bothering me any ideas where to look?

I’ve tried 4 different roms from 2 different sites the rom is loading because if i leave it on for a while a .srm file is created just not getting anything on screen

maybe be a video setting is screwed up somewhere
