Im confuzed what the difference is someone enlighten me?

RetroPie is a full distribution of software and scripts and EmulationStation is one piece of that software.

As far as i understand it emulationstation is the frontend that neatly presents all the games you have on the pi. While retropie is the part that runs the emulators, configs and other essential parts.

Basically emulationstation needs retropie to be worth anything, but retropie doesn’t NEED emulationstation to perform the same basic functions.
