Tutorial on N64 controller setup (xbox controllers)?

Hello,

All I want to do it play Mario Kart 64 and Mario World 64 on Retropie 3.5, but can’t get my 2 Xbox controllers to work on a single button or axis.

I have had this working all the way up from 2.6 to 3.2 so may have to roll back.

I’ve followed https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/Nintendo-64

I use Mupenplus64 and usually configure /opt/retropie/configs/n64/mupen64plus.cfg

Has anyone managed to get it to work on 3.5?

I am also trying to change the

/opt/retropie/configs/n64/mupen64plus.cfg

but in the header it says the file is read and written automatically, so changing this file is pointless.

I am running xboxdrv and all 4 controllers are working but the names are getting mixed up so controller1 is player3. There have to be another file where this can be set.

Maybe this is also the place you have to change something.
