So I’ve been trying to add a custom splash screen. I’ve tried to follow the stickied post but as I am new at this I am probably doing something wrong.

So basically I have my custom picture saved in /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/Arcade.png

When I do the whole sudo command thing (doing it in LXTerminal in the actual desktop gui) it comes up with this error

    I type in
    “sudo cp /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/Arcade.png /ect/splashscreen.png”

    and get this error

cp: cannot creat regular file ' /ect/splashscreen.png': no such file or directory

I also can’t find the /ect/ folder which might be a problem.

Again I am new at this so it is probably something simple. I am using the SD card image not the manual install if that means anything.

    Thanks

You misspelled the target directory ;-) It is /etc/ (see also https://www.petrockblock.com/?post_type=topic&p=1314#post-1314)
