    Hi all,

    I’ve been having generally good luck getting everything working, thanks to these forums! However, unlike the other emu’s I’ve played, the sound in MAME lags behind the video by about a second. Is this normal? Is there a tweak somewhere to fix it. Not super important, but it does take away from the experience a little. When you hit the button in Asteroids, you kind of need to hear that immediate “pew pew”

    any luck with this? I’m having it too, and only want mame for one of my pis. I’m putting this thing in an old Jr. Pac-Man Cabinet. Just want a few old mame games. Even something as simple as Ms. Pac is behind, just on the sound. real strange.

    welp, just found another thread:

    Sound sync and quality issues in MAME, even on old games

    that suggested changing /opt/retropie/emulators/mame4all-pi/mame.cfg
    samplerate=22100
    to
    samplerate=4000

    4000 didn’t seem right to me, so I google’d mame.cfg samplerate and found someone had set it to 44100 – which seems more right to me.
    so…
    samplerate=44100

    Issue is fixed for me. sounds and plays great!
