ROM Launch Error – Opens then goes back

I put a ROM into the /gba folder and it shows up, but when entering the ROM, it looks like it’s about to run, then it goes back to emulation station.

For reference, I put my ROM in via USB.

I’m guessing it has something to do with “req sound [basic.launch]”, but I’m not sure as to what that is.

Make sure you have the GBA bios in the bios folder

And lr-gpsp doesn’t support some ROMs so try using another emulator as well

How do I add the BIOS to the folder using a USB?

There should also be a bios folder along with the ROMs folder that autopopulate when you’ve plugged it in.

I’ve just got “configs” and “roms”

edit: “cd RetroPie/BIOS” exists, but there’s no bios folder on the usb when I take it out

update: my BIOS kinda works (I manually copied it through the terminal), by kinda I mean on one emulator.

Buuuuut:
it says game config missing (path is /home/RetroPie/roms/gba/game_config.txt)
and bad jump fffffffc (ffffffff) (0)

I thought it created a bios folder. Its been a while since I last tried it. Do you not have an Ethernet cable or WiFi dobgle? Also did you try switching the emulator as the ROM loads?

Wifi dongle is coming tomorrow – I’ll try to put the BIOS in that way. Do you have a link to an authentic GBA BIOS? Maybe the one I tried doesn’t work.

Also, what does it mean when it says the game config is missing (see above)?

For legal reasons you’re on your own with the bios. There’s also a way you can use the file manager to copy over the bios. The configs are probably related to lr-gpsp- there is a configs setting for each game, but it doesn’t support all the games which would explain why its not working. Again- try another emulator from the run command menu.
