Retropie unable to scan for wiimote

Hi, i have followed the online guide to add and pair wiimote and i’m stuck at the very initial stage where i need to scan for the wiimote to get the mac address.

my retropie is unable to scan for wiimote but is able to scan for my bluetooth 3.0 keyboard.

anyone can guide me if i’m missing something which allows my wiimote to be recognizable?

BTW my wiimote is able to pair & sync successfully with my wii.
