Anyone managed to get RetroPie working on Ubuntu MATE?
So after trying the new Ubuntu MATE distro on my Raspberry Pi 2, I have to say it’s much better as a desktop experience than Raspbian IMO.
So I now want to use this as my main system on my Pi along with RetroPie. I installed RetroPie with the script and all went fine it seemed to install fine and I can get the RetroPie script menu up etc. But I can’t start Emulationstation. I’ve tried making it so that Emulationstation should boot automatically, but that doesnt seem to work as Ubuntu MATE just boots up the desktop and obviously I cant start Emulationstation from the desktop.
Does anyone know of a way to get back to the console from the Ubuntu MATE desktop? Or make it so that it boots into the console and then to start Ubuntu MATE I type ‘startx’?
