Retro Pie Just started Freezing

I was recently in Japan and bought a Retro Pie (built from a RP2) which worked flawlessly and I spent several weeks enjoying it immensely without making any adjustments to the device.

I then few home to the U.S. And upon plugging it into my TV all of a sudden the device freezes. Usually it freezes as emulation Station loads up and I end up with a white screen and other times I can get as far as the emulator selection screen and can scroll between the emulators until it randomly freezes. What could cause the device to just spontaneously begin freezing? I thought it might have been a power supply issue and bought a new power supply but that didn’t help.

Perhaps my SD card corrupted?

Do I have to change some setting to get it to run in the U.S.?

Please help… I love my retro pi and want it working again.

That is rather odd. The only thing I can think of is to change

/boot/config.txt

sdtv_mode=1
to
sdtv_mode=0

Otherwise, short of a fresh SD image install I’m not sure how to fix it.

Here’s 2 things that fixed it for me

1) Disable overclocking (RetroPie > Raspi Config > Overclocking)
2) Increase GPU memory (Add gpu_mem=256 to config.txt on SD card)

I would lean towards overclocking, gpu_mem (as above) or PSU.
