Popup grapical notification from script on Raspberry pie2

Hi there,
I’m currently building a Bartop Arcade based on raspi 2+retropie and so emmulsation station.
I would like to connect Wiimotes with bluetooth dongle(which already work).
But during the process of pairing(done with a script attached) I would like to be able to display popups above EmulationStation or through EmulationStation.
Is there already a way to do that kind of display trick? Is that feasible?

I tryied to used ‘notify-osd’ with its ‘notify-send’ commands from my script but nothing appears on screen.
