    Ok, i have had RP setup and running on my TV just fine for a while now, today i gave it to my brother to play around with but for some reason there is no audio at all, its using the exact same HDMI and power cable that i have used on my Sony TV, his TV is an LG TV but im not sure why that would make a difference. Surely it being a HDMI cable it should ‘just work’ on any setup??

    Any ideas what the issue may be?

    Add this in your /boot/config.txt

    hdmi_drive=2

    Its force sound to HDMI TV

    Hi – I don’t know if I should start a new thread or not but, I have the same issue. I added hdmi_force_hotplug=1 hdmi_force_edid_audio=1 and hdmi_drive=2 to the bottom of my /boot/config.txt and I have no audio via HDMI. I am connecting it to my sound bar.

    I have just upgraded to retroPie 3.0 and I use the Pie 1.2+ B

    Any help would be appreciated! :D

    I spent the past three days on this and finally got it working…

    Quit emulation station
    type in sudo nano /boot/config.txt

    When that page loads, arrow all the way down to the bottom and type in the following:

    hdmi_drive=2
    hdmi_force_hotplug=1
    hdmi_force_edid_audio=1
    hdmi_group=1
    hdmi_mode=4

    Give this a try, hope it works!
