Hey peeps, so im completely new to this, i have un-boxed my Raspberry pi B+ this morning and spent 7 hours so far following step by step guides with no luck at all.

    Basically i have,
    Un boxed the pi,
inserted keyboard, mouse, hdmi lead, power lead (but left unplugged at the wall)

I have downloaded the retropie-v2.6.0-rpi2.img.gz file from this site,
i used 7 zip to unzip the file.

Then after formatting my 8GB SD card i used win32 to write the files to the card.

After this i plugged my SD card into my Raspberry Pi and connected the power.

After a boot up screen it took me to a screen featuring the RetroPie logo,
without pressing any buttons it then takes me back to a boot up screen where you can type in various commands.

This is where i am getting stuck.

    Any help would be brilliant,

Please try to use less complicated jargon as i am a newbie.

    Thanks very much in advance!

I am also new to this but think you need the image named rpi1. That is for pi 1 B+.
    Rpi2 is for the pi2

Thanks guys, something so simple was holding the process back.

I have since tried again using the Rpi1 files and i have got to Emulation Station.

    Cheers!
