megadrive controller question

so i’m putting a pi in an arcade and everything is done except i’m unable to figure out how to program the controller differently for megadrive games. i’ve set them up with f1 during gameplay but that remaps the buttons for all my emulators. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks:)

fixed. You can then make separate changes to each individual emulator by editing the configuration files for that emulator.

For NES the file is located here
/home/pi/RetroPie/configs/nes/retroarch.cfg
For MasterSystem
/home/pi/RetroPie/configs/mastersystem/retroarch.cfg
For MegaDrive
/home/pi/RetroPie/configs/megadrive/retroarch.cfg
In each file you will need to type out only the buttons you want to change and voila!!
