Hi all, after installing everything following the step-by-step guide all is working but mame.
The joystick works fine in every other emulator (joystick is a usb mayflash fighting stick). Once Mame is launched only the keyboard and 1 button of the joystick works when i try to set up the keys from the TAB menu.
I’m super new to this thanks everyone for helping out –borlandofloridaParticipant08/26/2014 at 15:53Post count: 34
I’m also having the same issue. I can access the emulator menu by pressing TAB, but when I try and assign a new button from the joystick it does not register any input, however I can use the joystick in all the other emulators without issue.
I’m using the official Sony PS3 Dualshock pad via Bluetooth (again, works flawlessly in the other emulators).GeenoGuest08/26/2014 at 16:45Post count: 908
Similar problem here, Mame4all-pi cannot recognise my joystick: button works, axes stick is not.
I am using a stick with 4 axes and 3-4 are h0x and h0y. Any other emulator works fine. Any suggestion?
Thanks!dudleydesParticipant08/27/2014 at 15:15Post count: 139
You can find a fix for the PS3 controller and Mame4all-pi at the Retropie Wiki
I can’t say whether it’ll work for the other controllers but it may be worth a try.borlandofloridaParticipant08/27/2014 at 15:59Post count: 34

Thanks, I actually found this page yesterday evening and gave it a try. Once I had followed the steps on there, I was able to get mame4all-pi to recognise the PS3 controller and was even able to use them within games. I only had a little time to map out the buttons to various commands, but haven’t had chance to try them out with other games yet.
However I will report back if there are any problems so if you don’t hear back then presume that everything works a treat!GeenoGuest08/29/2014 at 21:56Post count: 908
it’s me again, I tried the ps3 fix but my issue is not resolved :/
Mamepi4all still cannot recognise the joystick axes, it seems cause Mame can only assign the first 2 axes and my stick is with 4 axes (1-2 not active 3-4 are h0x and h0y accordin to jstest)
All the pad buttons are recognised and the controller works in any other emulator.]
It seems to be one of the issues described here:https://code.google.com/p/mame4all-pi/issues/detail?id=17
Does anyone know the solution?
