I’m getting some poor performance on the new 3.0b2 (Rpi1) image with NES roms that I wasn’t having with previous images.

I’m trying to switch to a different emulator, but don’t quite see where to do that. I’m in the es_systems.cfg file, but not sure of what command I need to edit.

    Any help?

    Thanks!

    The default is FCEUmm

You can change this when you start up a game, press x or m, this will bring you to a menu screen that lets you change the emulator.

The other choice there is nestopia

Worked perfectly, thanks! The issue I had was with the Punch-Out! rom. Switched it to NESTopia and all is good now.

    Thanks!

Floob, I noticed in another thread that you mentioned that you preferred Nestopia. Any reason for this? More accurate, faster?

Nope, just personal taste. I havent really thoroughly tested them both, but I havent had any issues with Nestopia.

I’ve found Nestopia to be noticeably better. One example is the smoothness of the screen scrolling in Ghosts and Goblins.

Thanks for your opinion. I’ve heard elsewhere that the Nestopia core is more accurate and the better of the Nes cores. I’ll be using that one.
