    Hi @all :)

I love my RetroPie but some times I wish I would have some more Performance. So I’m in deciding to buy a Raspberry Pi2 or try to run and configure Retroarch, Emulationstation and Ubuntu on an old Laptop of my.

I just made it to configure nearly all things, even autlogin into emulationstation and all emulator are working like a charme. But I cant get my Controller (a Speedlink Torid) to get work without a window manager.

When i enter into Unity and start emulation station all’s working fine but when i start emulationstation from tty1 (startx emulationstation) where no wm is started or when i log directly into from Lightdm my Controller is recognized, that can i see from Es_log.txt, but it didn’t recognize any button presses!?

How is it solved in RetroPie?

when im doing cat /dev/input/js0 on tty1 i get all button presses on screen…

this are the default user rights:

    crw-rw---- 1 root input 13, 64 Mai 1 18:52 /dev/input/event0
    crw-rw---- 1 root input 13, 65 Mai 1 18:52 /dev/input/event1
    crw-rw---- 1 root input 13, 74 Mai 1 18:52 /dev/input/event10
    crw-rw---- 1 root input 13, 75 Mai 1 18:52 /dev/input/event11
    crw-rw---- 1 root input 13, 76 Mai 1 18:52 /dev/input/event12
    crw-rw---- 1 root input 13, 77 Mai 1 18:52 /dev/input/event13
    crw-rw---- 1 root input 13, 78 Mai 1 18:52 /dev/input/event14
    crw-rw---- 1 root input 13, 79 Mai 1 18:52 /dev/input/event15
    crw-rw----+ 1 root input 13, 80 Mai 1 19:11 /dev/input/event16
    crw-rw---- 1 root input 13, 66 Mai 1 18:52 /dev/input/event2
    crw-rw---- 1 root input 13, 67 Mai 1 18:52 /dev/input/event3
    crw-rw---- 1 root input 13, 68 Mai 1 18:52 /dev/input/event4
    crw-rw---- 1 root input 13, 69 Mai 1 18:52 /dev/input/event5
    crw-rw---- 1 root input 13, 70 Mai 1 18:52 /dev/input/event6
    crw-rw---- 1 root input 13, 71 Mai 1 18:52 /dev/input/event7
    crw-rw---- 1 root input 13, 72 Mai 1 18:52 /dev/input/event8
    crw-rw---- 1 root input 13, 73 Mai 1 18:52 /dev/input/event9
    crw-rw-r--+ 1 root input 13, 0 Mai 1 19:11 /dev/input/js0

changing all rights for js0 and the events to 777 didn’t change anything on my problem

    Anybody an idea?
