    Hello,

My project is to have the Rpi display the emulator ( Emulation Station) on a laptop screen exactly as it does when I plug in a HDMI cable. In other words , I am very close to completing my project as it is a christmas gift for my brother, only to find out the other day that he does to have a TV. So, I decided to see if I could get it to display and play games through a laptop screen as he does have a laptop. However upon testing it on my own laptop I can only get the Rpi desktop using VNC Viewer , or I can access the terminal via SSH, but I can not attain the same display , or screen as when I plug in an HDMI. Can someone give me a hand ?

    Thank you.

I’m pretty sure the laptop will only have HDMI output, not input.
Does your brother have a separate monitor?

Or maybe he could use a PC based emulator instead?
You could get RetroArch for windows

Or go crazy and get one of these:

Thank you for the quick reply, Would it be possible to do it over a networking cable ? Using SSH or something ?

I already gave this a try, it only lets me use the desktop of the raspberry pi. I want to use the Emulation Station that it boots to normally.
