    Hey all I was wondering if somone could help me

    I installed my xbox360 controller to my Pi today and went through the input program on Emulation station but afterwards I decided to follow the guide on http://supernintendopi.wordpress.com/ to set up my controller properly so I had a hot key for exiting the emullators.

    Everything works fine on the SNES and Megadrive emulator but the GB,GBA and Mastersystem emulators are still using the old controllers and thus unless I press escape on a keyboard I have no way of exiting them. I cant see what I have missed to make them work differently, my config looks like this at the bottom

    # input_enable_hotkey_btn = 6
    # input_exit_emulator_btn = 7
    # input_rewind_btn = 3
    # input_save_state_btn = 4
    # input_load_state_btn = 5
    # input_player2_a_btn = 0
    # input_player2_b_btn = 1
    # input_player2_x_btn = 2
    # input_player2_y_btn = 3
    # input_player2_l_btn = 4
    # input_player2_r_btn = 5
    # input_player2_start_btn = 7
    # input_player2_select_btn = 6
    # input_player2_left_axis = -0
    # input_player2_right_axis = +0
    # input_player2_up_axis = -1
    # input_player2_down_axis = +1
    input_player1_joypad_index = “0”
    input_player1_b_btn = “0”
    input_player1_y_btn = “2”
    input_player1_select_btn = “8”
    input_player1_start_btn = “9”
    input_player1_up_axis = “-5”
    input_player1_down_axis = “+5”
    input_player1_left_axis = “-4”
    input_player1_right_axis = “+4”
    input_player1_a_btn = “1”
    input_player1_x_btn = “3”
    input_player1_l_btn = “4”
    input_player1_r_btn = “5”
    input_player1_l2_btn = “6”
    input_player1_r2_btn = “7”
    input_player1_l3_btn = “11”
    input_player1_r3_btn = “12”
    input_player1_l_x_plus_axis = “+0”
    input_player1_l_x_minus_axis = “-0”
    input_player1_l_y_plus_axis = “+1”
    input_player1_l_y_minus_axis = “-1”
    input_player1_r_x_plus_axis = “+2”
    input_player1_r_x_minus_axis = “-2”
    input_player1_r_y_plus_axis = “+3”
    input_player1_r_y_minus_axis = “-3”
    input_enable_hotkey_btn = “8”
    input_exit_emulator_btn = “9”

    Is this all correct or do I need to edit a different file.

    Also a couple of quick questions.
    -Is there a guide to get mame to work, every time I click on a rom it just goes straight back to the rom screen again
    -can you add different hot keys? I have it so that If I click start and back it exits the emulator but I also wanted and hot key to toggle fast speed?

    Cheers

    I’m also having issues with getting emulators to reliably exit using a controller button. It is indeed quite frustrating, but I haven’t found any solutions yet.

    Its not just the exit button, its everything isnt right on the other emulators.

    For instance I didnt set a button for start originally so I cant pause the GBA or mastersystem games so I cant pause them either.

    I assume its just something I have to overwrite or delete but I dont want to go through the hassle of doing everything again by accidently deleting something I shouldnt.

    Well I think Ive sorted it for the GBA. I found a file in the emulator folder called keys and it had the old set up set up. Decided to delete that for now to see what happens.

    Try and find where the other emulator files are stored.

    Nope still doesnt work.

    What does that input configuration program write to when you do the button test and save it (I checked all 3 boxes on there)

    SO I completely deleted GBSP off my card, reinstalled the emulator and the controls are still the same as before.

    Does anyone know what config file is edited by the input configuration program on emulation station?

    Think ive got it working.

    Didnt know gpsp doesnt config via retropie and you have to use its own program and then I used https://github.com/retropie/RetroPie-Setup/issues/220 to map the dpad
