    Hi,

    I set up colecovision with the cool_cv emulator.
    It runs very fine.
    Now i want to use custom retroarch.cfg for the colecovision.

    this is how my emulators.cfg looks like:

    coolcv=”/opt/retropie/emulators/colem/coolcv_pi %ROM% –config /opt/retropie/configs/colecovision/retroarch.cfg %ROM%”
    default=”coolcv”

    Emulator start the rom but does not use retroarch config……help please……

    Not 100% sure, but don’t think the cool_cv emulator is a retroarch emulator meaning it’s not using a retroarch core….If this is the case then it will not use nor load a retroarch.cfg file…Only emulators that have been coded to use a retroarch core will be able to use retroarch for config. Another example are some of the releases of MAME and Mupen64plus, which are not part of retroarch.

    Aha ok,

    So if i would like to use video_smooth, that wouldn’t work?
    Thats what i wanted to put in the retroarch.cfg
    So if coolcv is a standalone emulator is there a way for shaders, video enhancement, overlays like you can use with retroarch config?

    Greetings,

    Pat

    Correct, if it’s not a retroarch emu then you can only use what ever filters and shaders/settings that emu supports. None of the retroarch settings or shaders will work with it as it’s not part of retorarch.
