cave story controls…. how can I add 2 new control options

hi, is there anyway we can add 2 new/extra commands to the controls?
I’m looking to add the ability of using say 2 of the shoulder buttons to select the previous & next weapons, so pause is not keeping needed to be pressed to select the weapon needed?
