Amiga – transferring Kickstart from Win to Raspberry

Have managed to transfer a few ROMS (Amiga adf) using an SD card from Windows to Retropie – it seems to pick them up from the ROMS folder on the card and automatically move them to the ROMS folder on my PI’s micro SD Card.

I have used WinUAE on my PC for years and have the Kickstart 1.3 ROM for a few years now. I have renamed it Kick13.rom as per Retropie’s naming conventions but not sure how to get this file into the correct folder on the pi.

When I insert the micro SD card into my PC it doesn’t show me the correct folder structure for me to drag and drop the file into. I’m guessing this is due to the folders not being compatible with Windows

I’m relying on SD card transfer as my Pi has no online capabilities.

Put it in the bios folder. Make sure its all lowercase like this:

‘Put it in the bios folder’ – and therein lies my problem!

I’m attempting to move the kickstart file into the folder using Windows on the PC. When I insert the sd card none of the folders are available to move kickstart into.

I need to find a way to transfer files from my pc to the pi. I tried using an Ethernet cable and WinSCP, but I’m guessing there’s other bits I need on my Pi to make this happen, and wasn’t sure where to find the IP address of my pi.

If you have an ethernet cable in, you should be able to connect to it with hostname “RETROPIE”. There shouldnt be any need to configure that element.
