I begin by saying that this time I read carefully the wiki at https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Amiga … :-)

I placed some roms in adf form under /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/amiga/ (and the kick<n> roms in BIOS),
but retropie doesnt show anything, apart from
“start uae4all” and “start uae4arm” … is it correct – and I have to launch the emulator & interact with it from the inside?

… just asking because I’m a bit unable to understand the workings of the uae4all/arm interfaces (never had an Amiga, but always dreamed about it!),
while under the other menus (mame, c64, zx,…) I just have to select a rom & launch it

Yes thats right, you start the roms via the GUI interface of uae4all/uae4arm

This video is a little out of date but it should give you an idea

Yeah, it is possible to load games without going through the via the GUI. You need to make some changes to the way that uae4arm works. The trick I found best is to make use of config files (in much the same way that some people run DOS games?).
