I find GPSP annoying to configure (BIOS has to go in emulator’s directory, button mapping is different). GPSP was traditionally used instead of Retroarch because of performance, but I suspect this will be different on the Pi2.

I propose adding RetroArch GBA to the main image (but keep GPSP and let users choose between them as has been done with other emulators).

If anyone knows how to install Retroarch-GBA manually, please let me know so I can test it :)

You are in luck. yesterday gizmo98 added two modules for gba games

    vba-next and
    gpsp

They are in the experimental section – I believe vba-next is slower than gpsp. They will also only show up for rpi2 users.

Awesome! Does VBA-next use the Retroarch engine? For my system I really want the control scheme to be consistent throughout all the emulators. I don’t want to have to explain anything to people who use it :)

I’m mainly planning to stick to the consoles so I don’t have to worry about PC emulation.

    Update:

Tested GPSP-Retroarch – works flawlessly so far. Freaking fantastic ^^
