I’m assuming you were scraping with a scraper outside of EmulationStation. One common issue is you have to exit ES. With the recent updates it makes it difficult but when ES exits it writes a new gamlist.xml with the latest last played, play count information. This has the effect of overwriting all the work you may have done.
