Before I acquire the GPIO adaptor I was wondering if anyone had successfully hooked it up to an original SNES controller connector plate yet (the one that would normally be hooked up by a ribbon cable to the SNES mobo)?

Would you need to remove the PCB and wire straight to the pins as normal or is there other shenanigans required? Failing that, is there any way to make the original PCB/ribbon combo work with the Raspberry Pi at all?
