Ideas: A better MAME and a full Raspbian OS

Hello guys,
For this amazing RetroPie Project i propose 2 changes:
First, a better MAME emulator. I love arcade games but the current emualtor (MAME4ALL-Pi) use the romset of the old MAME4ALL of the 2000′ year. They read 2270 roms and 2/3 are clones, and the sound lagging in many games. For example on pc i usa MAMEUI64fx 0.154, it is perfect, it support hiscore.dat and cheats and other .dat.

Secondly, propose the full Raspbian os like the original distro.

For this time, i prefer play emulators on PC

I would recommend getting a heatsink set for your pie and over-clocking to turbo. I have had fantastic results even being able to recompile mupen64 and play several games in almost full speed (little laggy in beginning but games catch up it seems).

Hi to all,
Is possible to put new MAME with the new version of the raspberry, pi 2 ?
Somebody tried to load the last version of the MAME?
Here, http://wiki.mamedev.org/index.php/SDL_Supported_Platforms , you can see that MAME support all recent version of linux, is possible to install one of this version on the new raspberry?

You could always try compiling one of the mame versions that are out there for Debian linux and see how it goes.

I dont really see the problem.
mame4all and pifba have loads of great games!
My only thing was not being able to play MK2 on Mame but whatever.
I can still play that game on SNES!

The best mame for arm is mame4droid (139.1 u romset) if works in 1000 mhz/dual- 700 Mg ram android tablet. (with more 8000 roms).

In android are 37b5 for low spec. smartphones and 139 for medium/premium.
In raspberry are 37b5 for raspberry Pi A/B/B+/2 B. I think is time for 139 for Raspberry 2 B.

I don’t understand this post, I don’t understand what is strange to ask a newer version of mame , we are at a version mame of 15 years ago in raspberry.
