First off i would like to say that i am using this http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0080RAT42″ adapter and these http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-X-6-Button-Game-Controller-for-SEGA-Genesis-Black-/170856397761?pt=US_Video_Game_Controllers&hash=item27c7d5bbc1 controllers

Now, i know that these work, because i am playing sonic on my computer. The problem is, whenever i do the configuration thing in emulationstation for the controller, it wont pick up when i press up and left on the d-pad. I was wondering if anyone else might be having this problem with an original genesis controller, and if I would have to buy those.

I remember reading about a similar issue a while back with the Retrobit adapters, this thread may help you: http://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=78&t=36564&p=487878&hilit=retrobit#p487878
