Snes controls analogue

Please regard me as a complete noob I have retro pie 2 set up and mostly working with a PS3 controller after rebuilding my Mame rom sets for mame4all version 0.37b5 and installing my Snes roms however I need some help to finish off.

1. How can I change the Snes controls to use the analogue stick instead.

2. After rebuilding some roms including r type my favourite report missing files ?

3. Is there any further updating to be done after initially getting up and running ?

To use analog stick when playing SNES rom hold Select and press triangle. Goto settings – Input then it should say digital to analog. Change this from None to Left analog.
