InactiveI’ve created a retropie 3.0b2 script to install the GemRB engine http://www.gemrb.org on RPI2, which allows playing the following original bioware games.
Baldurs Gate 1
Baldurs Gate 2
Icewind Dale 1
Icewind Dale 2
Planescape TormentIt’s a beta script, only tested on a raspberry pi 2.
I’ve briefly tested it with all games – creating characters, entering world etc.
The script is available at
https://github.com/amigagamer/gemrb-retropie/blob/master/gemrb.shInstall the script to RetroPie-setup/scriptmodules/ports It will add gemrb to the experimental menu in retropie setup.
The games have been tested from the GOG.com installers by installing/extracting the files on windows, then copying the contents of the game folders to roms/gemrb/”gamename”Id appreciate any feedback or suggested improvements. Its a personal project but if there’s interest my aim is to get it integrated into retropie

Thanks

ParticipantI’ve briefly tested it with Baldur’s Gate, it seems to run really well on my Rpi2. Thanks for posting this!

ParticipantThe widescreen mod doesn’t seem to work. I’ve installed it correctly onto my PC, setting 1280×720 as the required resolution. I’ve then recopied the entire folder across to the pi again but the game still renders in 4:3. I’ve set the resolution as 1280×720 when the games boots but that doesn’t affect things.

Thanks for trying this out.
I havent spent a lot of time looking at the widescreen mod (yet). Just focusing on testing the main unaltered games first.
Try setting your widescreen resolution in the bg1.cfg file /opt/retropie/configs/gemrb/
This is also accessable via windows/smb config share.04/20/2015 at 21:41 #95735trixster
ParticipantWell I never, it only bloody works! Nice one. I didn’t even think to look for a config file.

ParticipantAny idea what GUIEnhancements = 15 in the .cfg does?

Inactivetrixter, look at the GemRB.cfg.sample in the configs directory, it gives an explination of all the options. Since its noted this option only works on BG2 right now it reminds me to remove it from the other games configs in the script….
