Nevermind, I was able to fix it by configuring the controllers in the console instead of in the ES gui. The retroarch.cfg file hasn’t changed so I assume another file has been changed which overrides this one. Sorry for the bother, Always the way, spend 2 or 3 hours trying to figure something out, ask someone and fix it yourself 30 minutes later.
